NEFLIN Connect is a collaborative space intended to help NEFLIN members connect with each other and benefit from each other’s knowledge and expertise. A core component of NEFLIN’s Strategic Plan is “Member Collaboration”. NEFLIN Connect is a tool to facilitate that collaboration.

NEFLIN members come from more than 60 libraries or library systems in 24 counties throughout Northeast Florida. They represent academic, public, school, and special libraries, and work in a wide range of roles, from technical services to programming to administration.

Any staff member working in a NEFLIN Member Library may submit a NEFLIN Connect Profile. From time to time, NEFLIN members might know of an individual, performer, or trainer who would be a good addition to NEFLIN Connect. In that case, they may recommend to that person that they submit a profile. As part of the submission form, non-members should indicate which NEFLIN member is referring them. Upon approval, that profile will be included in NEFLIN Connect.

Answer the NEFLIN Connect submission form as completely as you can. NEFLIN Connect includes both a category search and a keyword search, so try to include as much information in the “Biographical Information and Details on Expertise” box as possible so that users will find your profile easily. Consider keywords that a NEFLIN Connect user might use and include them in your profile. In addition, be sure to read the entire category list and choose all that apply to you. If you don’t see a category that represents your expertise, please offer suggestions in the “Suggest a Category” box.

You are welcome to browse NEFLIN Connect, but only NEFLIN members or individuals, performers, or trainers who have been recommended by a NEFLIN member can create a profile.

NEFLIN Staff enter NEFLIN Connect Profiles manually, so there will be a short lag time before your
profile appears. In most cases, your profile will be active within 48 hours, and you
should receive an email from NEFLIN once your profile is posted.

A streamlined “Update Member Profile” form is available on the NEFLIN Connect site. To find the form, click on “Submit or Edit Information” in the menu at the top of the page.

By submitting a profile, you are agreeing that your information will be available to anyone who searches NEFLIN Connect. NEFLIN does not promote NEFLIN Connect outside of our membership, but you can expect that some who aren’t members will find it. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not submit a NEFLIN Connect Profile. If you do submit a profile, be careful not to include personal contact info.

Yes. By submitting a NEFLIN Connect profile, members are agreeing that they are willing to communicate with other members who contact them.

We need your category suggestions to help us build the NEFLIN Connect database. You may submit a category suggestion on your Expertise Application Form or email your suggestions to office@neflin.org. To see a current list of categories that are included in NEFLIN Connect, click here.
